Life Activation Day # 11
Anyone that knows me, knows how much hummus I eat. There is reason behind this; I swear I dont just enjoy smelling of garlic and tahini all day long. Chickpeas or Garbanzo beans, are an excellent source of fiber, macro nutrients and are very high in protein. Vegans and vegetarians should eat tons of chickpeas due to high levels of zinc, magnesium and most importantly, iron. Evidence shows that chickpeas also effectively prevent diabetes and lower cholesterol.
There are tons of ways to eat chickpeas; hummus, soup, salad, in baked goods (chickpea brownies anyone?), burgers, in a smoothie… the list is endless. This is one of the reasons that it is so important to play and experiment with our food! Unless we play we cannot discover… I’ll let you think on that.
