The Ultimate Green Smoothie
1 red grapefruit, peeled
1 banana, peeled
4 cups dandelion greens (or kale), chopped
1 cup unsweetened coconut milk or almond mylk
½ cup pineapple
- Add all the ingredients except for greens to your blender and pulse.
- Add the greens and blend on high for 30 seconds or until the smoothie is creamy.
Vegan Pre Work Out Shake (high intensity)
Packed with protein (spirulina is a complete protein) and rich in vitamins and minerals, this smoothie is an excellent source of nutrition and energy.
1 banana or avocado
1 handful kale
1/2 cup frozen mango
1 cup water
1 teaspoons spirulina powder
1/2 teaspoon miso
1 cup ice
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend for 1 to 2 minutes, until the mixture is completely smooth.
Hangover Cure: Tutti Frutti Smoothie
1 cup orange juice
1 cup pineapple juice
1 kiwi
1 tablespoon Vitamin B enriched yeast
1 tablespoon agave
Mix all the above mentioned ingredients in a blender, (mix well). Your nutritional and tasty fruit cocktail is ready. Drink it and feel an instant energy boost.
It’s a Smoothie Kinda (hangover) Love

Out till 4am? Did you wake up on the floor next to what you thought was your bed? Are you feeling like you were hit by a train, while simultaneously walking into a wall and smashing your face off a door? I know that feeling all to well!
This smoothie is about to become your new best friend. All of these ingredients are there to help with stomach issues, refuel and re-hydrate the body, and help relax the mind– all good things for treating a hangover, yes? Yes!
1 cup orange juice
1/2 banana
1/2 cup young thai coconut water
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tbsp maca
1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
4 drops Milk Thistle
Toss all ingredients in a blender. Grab a glass straw and enjoy in bed.
Superfood : Mesquite

Mesquite hardwood is often used to add a smoky sweetness to grilled food. Mesquite powder, on the other hand, is ground from the pods of the mesquite plant, and has a sweet, nutty, caramel-like flavor, making it ideal for desserts and for use as a natural sweetener.
Mesquite plant found in parts of South America and the southwestern United States. Mesquite pods have long been used by Native Americans, who ground them into a powder for use as a flour or sweetener. Mesquite is high in protein and low on the glycemic index. This gluten-free powder is also a good source of calcium, iron, lysine, manganese, zinc, and potassium.
Mesquite Powder in Your Diet
Mesquite powder is a great addition to a smoothie, just a spoonful of this superfood powder adds a sweet, rich flavor to smoothies and shakes. You can substitute up to half the flour in a recipe with mesquite powder for added flavor and nutrition. Given mesquite’s naturally sweet flavor, you may also be able to reduce the amount of sugar or other sweetener used in baking. Mesquite is also delicious used alongside raw cacao/cocoa powder. And of course it is also great in raw desserts. Although it can be used as a flour in baking, unlike most flours, it does not require cooking to taste fantastic! Mesquite powder once again adds flavor, but also helps raw cookies, balls, and crusts bind together, as in the recipe below.
Mesquite powder can be found in the bulk foods or supplement section of many natural or health food stores. It is also widely available from online retailers.

1/2 banana, frozen
1/2 Cup mango, frozen
1/2 Cup strawberries
1/2 tbsp lucuma
1 scoop vanilla Sun Warrior Protein
1 Cup coconut water
1/2 cup ice (if necessary)
Blend & Enjoy!
Green Giant Smoothie
Electrolytes, vitamins & minerals .. Oh my!
1/2 banana, frozen
1 pear, peeled & chopped
1 handful of spinach
3/4 cup coconut water
2 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp chlorella
1 tsp maca powder
1 small piece of ginger
Pinch of cinnamon
Blend and Enjoy!!
Hangover Shmangover
You did it again, you swore you wouldn’t, but one drink turned into 15 and now, here you are, on your ass with your head in the toilet. After thousands of years, we are still in search of the perfect remedy to rid us of that head spinning, gut rotting, body aching, feeling. We could just stop poisoning ourselves… but let’s face it– thats not going to happen any time soon.
In the mean time, here are some helpful ingredients to include in your post-bender menu…
- Milk Thistle: Commonly prescribed for people with liver problems. It is known to help the liver function properly, and may help the liver process alcohol better.
- Gingerroot: Often brewed and consumed as a tea, gingerroot is known for its ability to settle an upset stomach.
- Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Juices: Juices help to replenish lost nutrients and they help re-hydrate your body.
- Lemon Water: The lemon will help to raise your blood sugar levels, and the water will re hydrate your body.
- Soup: Soup is a common hangover remedy because it soothes the stomach and helps re-hydrate the body.
Chocolate Hulk

CHOCOLATE HULK
1 cup almond milk
1 frozen banana
1 tbsp almond butter
1tbsp liquid chlorophyll
1 tbsp cacao nibs
1 tsp mesquite
1 scoop chocolate vegan protein powder (optional)
Blend all ingredients until smooth.
Red Energy Smoothie
This is a great pre-workout treat that will give you the extra energy needed to hit the gym, hop on that bike, or kick some boot camp ass.
4 beets, cooked and peeled
2 cups coconut water
2 cups frozen strawberries
Juice of 1 lime
Blend until smooth and enjoy.

Green Smoothies

Green Smoothies
I like Green Smoothies because they look like swampy lagoon water. I like food with fun colours created by nature and all its beauty. The idea of drinking blended greens might be a weird concept to wrap your head around, but is a great way to get those nutrients fast. Victoria Butenko introduced the world to her particular style of blending greens and folks went bananas over it. I like to combine fruits to make it a bit sweeter and pleasant to drink. Green smoothies are incredible energy boosters and help with mental clarity and anti-aging.
Below is a simple base for green smoothies. I use this then add other ingredients as my mood and cravings change from day to day. Try with blueberries, bananas, pineapple or agave nectar.
1 cup kale
2 pears
1 cup spinach
1 cup water
Juice of 1 lemon
Toss all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until smooth.
